How Traidcraft works
Traidcraft's unique structure - a trading company and a development charity working together - gives us a distinctive perspective on how trade can be made to work for the poor.
This gives us opportunities to influence opinion and behaviour in the charitable, business and public sectors.

About the trading company Launched in 1979, Traidcraft's trading company has experienced significant growth in recent years and is now the UK's leading fair trade company.

About the charity Traidcraft's charity, Traidcraft Exchange, is the UK's only development charity specialising in making trade work for the poor.

|
Traidcraft's structure Traidcraft consists of three main organisations bound together by a Deed of Mutual Covenant, which enshrines Traidcraft's Foundation Principles and sets out the basis for mutual co-operation.

Traidcraft's Boards Traidcraft's trading company and charity work closely wherever possible and share the same senior management team and support services. The two Boards share many of the same members and all their meetings are held jointly.

Traidcraft Foundation The objective of the Traidcraft Foundation is to relieve poverty in the developing world and, in particular, to ensure that Traidcraft remains focused on its goal of fighting poverty through trade and stays true to its Foundation Principles.
