The objective of the Traidcraft Foundation is to relieve poverty in the developing world and, in particular, to ensure that Traidcraft remains focused on its goal of fighting poverty through trade and stays true to its Foundation Principles.
As Founder Member of our charity Traidcraft Exchange, the Foundation appoints all members of the Traidcraft Exchange Board.
As holder of the Guardian Share in Traidcraft's trading company, the Foundation has a power of veto over the election of directors to the Traidcraft plc Board and can also block payment of dividends above a certain level and any changes to the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
The Foundation also has the right to be consulted about Traidcraft's strategic plans, and has a particular role in ensuring the adequate representation of the views of external stakeholders in social accounting and other processes.
