Who we are and what we do

In 1993, Traidcraft was the first public limited company to publish audited social accounts in the UK. The adoption of social accounting by most major UK companies is a huge step forward and we are proud to have played a key part in establishing social accounting practices.

Traidcraft's unique structure - a trading company and a development charity working together - gives us a distinctive perspective on how trade can be made to work for the poor and gives us opportunities to influence opinion and behaviour in the charitable, business and public sectors.
