Make money AND do good this Christmas – in 3 pretty simple steps

November 03, 2016

It’s not often we show you how to make a fast buck at Traidcraft. Truth be told, we normally encourage you to part with a few pennies to support a good cause, or to get yourself a good cup of coffee.

But when an opportunity comes along for you to do something positive for the world and to increase your bank balance at the same time… Well, we’re definitely not going to hide that from you!

The premise is simple – you share Traidcraft catalogues with your friends and family, you take their orders and you make 10-15% profit on each sale.

Now you might be thinking, is it really fair to make money from the people closest to you? And mostly the answer to that is no… but here it’s a little different.

Firstly, you’re offering them genuine catalogue prices – the same ones we offer online if they were to shop on their own. Secondly, you’re basically doing their Christmas shopping for them. And finally, you’re opening up the world of fair trade for them; you’re helping them to make a difference through the way they shop.

And all of this can be done in 3 pretty simple steps. Here’s what you do…

1) Get a Traidcraft Fair Trader Account

This might sound a little formal but it doesn’t have to be. All it means is that you agree to have a go at getting people to shop with Traidcraft – nothing more complicated than that. And with this account you get access to our discount scheme - 10% off food and 15% off clothes and crafts.

You can fill in the form today here

2) Share some catalogues

The easiest and cheapest way to get catalogues is to ring us on 0191 491 0855 and we’ll pop them in the post. Make sure you ask for enough order forms as well to save you another phone call later.

Then you can drop a catalogue in front of the people you think might be interested – show them your favourite things and offer to sort out the ordering and delivering for whatever it is they fancy.

3) Collect the orders

Once they’ve taken their pick from our range of Christmas gifts and food, collect their order forms and their payments and place the big order. We’ll give you the discount and as long as you’ve spent more than £40 combined (to get free delivery) that will give you a tidy profit.

Once the parcels arrive, you can play Santa Claus and deliver the goods!

And that’s really as simple as it gets. It’s a win-win situation for you and your friends. They’ll get their Christmas shopping sorted and you’ll have a bit of spare cash to go towards presents, give to a good cause or store away for a rainy day.

On top of that, you can know that all this shopping makes a real difference in people’s lives overseas. You’ll be making the world a better, fairer place.
