Fruit and nut biscuits
These crunchy biscuits are ideal with a cup of Fairtrade tea.
Ingredients - 1 tbsp of black treacle or molasses
- 5oz margarine
- 4oz Traidcraft muscovado sugar
- 5oz Traidcraft Fruit & Nut muesli
- 4oz plain flour
- 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Method - Heat oven to 150C/300F/Gas Mark 2. Grease 2 baking trays.
- Melt together over a low heat the treacle, margarine and sugar.
- Add the muesli and flour and mix well.
- Dissolve the bicarbonate of soda in one tbsp of hot water. Add to the mixture, then leave to cool slightly.
- Form into 25-30 small biscuits. Bake for approximately 20 minutes.
- Leave to cool on the baking tray before removing.
