Government responds to the Competition Commission's final report
The Competition Commission concluded its two year investigation into supermarkets in April 2008.

It discovered that UK supermarkets transfer "excessive risk and unexpected costs" on to their suppliers and recommended a stronger Code of Practice and an independent ombudsman to improve supermarket practice. The government had 90 days to respond to the Commission's findings. You can read the government response here.
