Planting for the future
In Indonesia, our partner Pekerti, who make our popular Ichthus brooch, is using capital from Traidcraft's Carbon Offset Fund to plant and conserve the trees used to produce their handicrafts. Pekerti began planting in 2008 and will populate a 12,000 m2 area with over 3,000 trees. Furthermore, their staff will manage and maintain the trees, preserving their valuable resources and helping to increase awareness of environmental issues in their region.
A gift of £8 will help us reach out to more of our partners and help them take practical, simple steps to preserve their resources for generations to come.
