Cash for trash: recycling printer cartridges and mobiles

Your used printer, toner or laser cartridges and mobile phones can be recycled to raise valuable donations for Traidcraft Exchange, while helping protect the environment at the same time.

Mobile phoneTraidcraft have teamed up with leading recycling company, Recycling Appeal. Every time you donate a cartridge, mobile phone or PDA to Recycling Appeal, Traidcraft will receive a cash donation to help continue our vital work in developing countries.

And as well as this, it means the cartridges aren't harming the environment by sitting in landfill sites. Did you know it takes up to 1000 years for a printer cartridge to decompose?

How it works

  • If you have small number of cartridges or mobile phones, you can send them freepost to the Recycling Appeal in an envelope.
  • Alternatively, you can box them up and Recycling Appeal will collect them free of charge from anywhere in the UK.
  • Recycling Appeal then send a cash donation to Traidcraft for the value of your cartridges and mobile phones.
  • For more information on how much your recycling is worth you can download the price list on the Recycling appeal website.

With your help, we can make an even bigger difference.
