Are you an independent consultant working on capacity-building products and services? Then the Traidcraft Associates Programme can help you.
Led by qualified and experienced facilitators, this free programme will develop and strengthen your professional skills and knowledge, enabling you to deliver even more effective development projects.
Traidcraft Exchange has an effective and empowering people-centred participatory approach to capacity building and business support of SMEs and small producers.
We want to work with more high-calibre professionals who are passionate about using their skills and knowledge to transform the lives of the poor.
The Associates Programme consists of three, 5-day residential workshops across eight months from September 2012. Participants will be expected to attend all workshops and complete coursework. Mutual learning will be a key element of the programme with Associates learning from each other and from Traidcraft’s facilitators.
By the end of the programme successful participants will have:
- strengthened their skills to provide appropriate, sustainable, consistent and quality business support and capacity building services on any subsequent work for Traidcraft and other organisations;
- developed advanced skills in facilitation, training, coaching and mentoring, utilising a participatory people-centred methodology;
- enhanced understanding of business development services and sustainable service provision;
- a thorough understanding of Traidcraft Exchange’s approach to development work.
"I have never seen that type of training in the past. It is the best training I have received."
Asha Paul, (Business Consultant)
Although we are unable to guarantee any future contracts, successful course members will be regarded as Traidcraft associates and will be Traidcraft’s preferred choice when contracting consultants, and recommending to our partners. Any subsequent work on Traidcraft projects will be guided by procurement procedures and other project requirements.
"Since attending the training, I always apply Traidcraft methodology and training techniques in my work. This has given me a competitive advantage over other consultants."
Herbert (former course participant)
