Nepal Meet the People Tour
The dramatic mountains of the Himalayas provide the stunning backdrop for this unique tour to Nepal. We spend time with ceramic and handmade paper producers, members of the vibrant network of fair trade producers in Nepal.

As well as our visits to various craft producers there is an overnight visit to Nagarkok for a morning view of Everest. We also explore the ancient city of Kathmandu with its many temples, search for tigers on an elephant back safari in Chitwan National Park and spend time in the lakeside city of Pokhara providing our final dramatic views of the Annapurna Himal.

Meet the producers
On this tour you will visit Get Paper Industries (GPI) who were established in 1985 as a family business producing handmade paper products from cotton and paper waste. GPI is now a co-operative and workers are involved in all aspects of decision-making through a number of committees.
Wages and working conditions are very good here and GPI has also been involved in social activities, including co-financing a local school, promoting girls' education, AIDS awareness, and environmental activities.
