Traidcraft Annual Stakeholder Event and AGM 2006

"A mind boggling day" that "went too quickly". These were just two of the comments received from the record number of shareholders, fair traders, and supporters who gathered at the London School of Economics on Saturday 23 September 2006.

After a Christian service of worship, our Chief Executive, Paul Chandler, gave a review of the year in which he set out breath-taking progress in implementing our new strategic plan, and some of the challenges facing Traidcraft as the fair trade movement gathers momentum.

Our Registrars, Brewin Dolphin, then gave a brief report on share transactions and prices during the year. Then as always, the Board of Directors answered an interesting and varied range of questions from the floor.

The formal proceedings of the Traidcraft plc annual general meeting then followed and all motions were carried.

After lunch, delegates were able to relax and enjoy two further presentations. Maveen Pereira (Programme Manager for South Asia) showcased some of the current development projects happening in India, and Larry Bush (Marketing Director) gave a colourful preview of the product packaging branding process.

Before closing, stakeholders had an opportunity to discuss in small groups some of the issues facing the fair trade movement.
