Traidcraft is respected for its pioneering history and commitment and our fair trade rubber gloves from Sri Lanka are a great example of this. We pioneered rubber gloves in 2009 and we’re currently working to develop a fair trade standard which, when adopted by the international labelling organisation, will open the way for more fair trade rubber products in the mainstream.
To celebrate our pioneering commitment, hundreds of festival-goers (young and old!) decorated rubber gloves which were then hung on our special tree for all to see.
The rubber quiz also proved very popular with people, keen to win this year’s fair trade hamper of goodies!
Many Greenbelt regulars are already dedicated Traidcraft supporters and it was another great opportunity for Traidcraft staff to meet and chat with them.
Other Traidcraft highlights
On Sunday afternoon Traidcraft's chief executive Paul Chandler took part in a panel debate entitled, 'The Capital Problem' alongside Sarah Edwards, from Health Poverty Action's policy and campaigns team and author and broadcaster Oliver James.
Then on Bank Holiday Monday, Paul took his seat in The Tank for a question and answer session on all things fair trade and Traidcraft.
