With a wide range of activities, presentations, music and wine tasting – plus the chance to win a Traidcraft Meet the People Tour - Traidcraft’s packed programme has something for everyone who wants to engage in trade justice and fair trade.
“We’re inviting people to make their mark in support of trade justice in many different ways,” said Jane Riley of Traidcraft. “This summer our producers in India, Kenya and Bangladesh have created giant banners of handprints which will be on display and visitors to the Traidcraft marquee can add their handprint to banners, T-shirts and trade justice campaign cards.
“There will be games based on getting goods to market, a seminar on trade justice and also a session for church leaders explaining how Traidcraft can help in the Christian response to poverty.”
Other events in the Traidcraft marquee include:
- a wine tasting with information about the producer groups
- learning to Samba with Cardboard Citizens, a theatre company working with the homeless
- African body percussion
- a pub quiz (bring your own bottle!)
- an auction to raise funds for Traidcraft’s development charity, Traidcraft Exchange.
You will find Traidcraft in the heart of the Greenbelt action, next to The Pulse.

Schoolchildren in Bangladesh help to make a banner of handprints which will be on display at the Traidcraft marquee in Greenbelt. Many of the youngsters are children of Traidcraft producers who are enjoying a better education thanks to the fair trade benefits their parents receive.
