They are appearing at three North East venues this month as the finale to a national tour that has included venues as far apart as Aberdeen and Chichester, Bangor and Ipswich.
On the 28th October they’re at the Northumberland Hall in Alnwick and the next night at Stocksfield Baptist Church.
But the most unusual gig will be at Traidcraft itself where they’ll be playing at an invitation-only event – in the middle of the warehouse.
“Gareth and Rob were such a big hit when they performed in the Traidcraft marquee at the Greenbelt Festival earlier this year we wanted to give all our staff the chance to hear them,” said Traidcraft chief executive Paul Chandler.
“They are both passionate about using their music to encourage their audiences to look beyond the headlines and the stereotypes and think about some of the really big issues that we have to deal with in our society and our world.
“This is our busiest time of year and our warehouse is packed with fair trade products from all around the world. You couldn’t have a more appropriate setting for songs and music that really drive the message home.
“We can guarantee that anyone who hears Gareth and Rob will be challenged, stirred and rewarded by a night of really great music.”
Giving the event a wider international flavour will be managers and directors from the 12 leading fair trade organizations from across Europe. They’re in the region for a meeting of the European Fair Trade Association, which Traidcraft is hosting.
