As the UK’s leading fair trade organisation, Traidcraft has more than 450 fair trade products available in its latest catalogue, including a range of stylish homewares, accessories, stationery and food.
Buying fair trade products from Traidcraft means you’re helping a range of producers in Asia, Latin America and Africa. Take the beautiful, hand-embroidered Tree of Life Cushion Covers (pictured right), which provide work for many women at St Mary’s in India.
The cloth, threads and mirror pieces must be prepared for the women to take to their homes. Once the embroidery work is done, they return the pieces to St Mary’s where the cloth is washed, ironed and stitched by a team of tailors, before being checked

Other highlights from the new catalogue include:
• Lacquered Flower Platter (£20)and Lacquered Flower Vase (£24, both on page 62), which are made in Vietnam for Craft Link. The flower motif is hand-painted and each layer of lacquer is painstakingly applied over a four-week period, making this a truly artisan product.
• Our range of storage baskets and chests, which are hand-woven in Bangladesh (page 73). Each basket is made from natural hogla fibre, which is strong and durable. Prices start at £18.
• Crochet Nativity Set (£16, page 20) is a cute collection of crocheted nativity figures. Traidcraft’s regular orders for Nativity Sets from Mai Handicrafts in Vietnam help group members to educate their children.
• Our range of intricately embroidered purses, such as the Jewelled Purse (£10, page 29), which is made in India, and the Peacock Make-up Purse (£6, page 42), which is made in Bangladesh.
• Our new range of chocolate bars – Choc ‘n Toffee Bar is a milk chocolate-covered caramel bar, while the Crisp ‘n Chewy Caramel Bar contains nougat, rice and chewy caramel covered in milk chocolate. Not only are both bars certified Fairtrade, each one contains less than 100 calories per bar.
