Join the global community with Geobar

Fans of Geobar, the UK’s most popular fair trade cereal bar, are being invited to claim a free 2012 wall planner, which helps them keep track of their diary – and the diaries of the producers who supply their favourite Geobar fair trade ingredients.

13 October 2011

Traidcraft is running an exciting on-pack promotion on all four varieties of Geobar from 14th October 2011.

A fold-out promotional sticker on the front of each box directs consumers to the Geobar website, www.lovegeobar.com, where they can register their details to claim one of 10,000 A1-sized planners.

The wall planner features information on producers, as well the harvest periods for the growers who farm the fair trade ingredients in Geobars, such as rice, blueberries and apricots. It also features a useful world map printed underneath the calendar, which is an official Hobo Dyer equal area political world map – meaning that each country is shown in a different colour at the correct proportion in relation to land area.

Jenny File, Traidcraft’s product marketing manager, says: “This on-pack promotion is designed to drive traffic to www.lovegeobar.com, as well as increase sales. It gives us a great opportunity to build the Geobar community and help consumers connect to the fair trade producers in the developing world.”

Larry Bush, marketing director at Traidcraft, adds: “Geobar is the most widely recognized and bestselling Traidcraft product and every time someone buys a Geobar, they become a part of the global community. The interesting features of the Geobar wall planner, such as the details of fair trade harvests and producer stories, serve to enhance the relationship between the consumer and producer. This allows customers to follow the production of fair trade ingredients from across the world, and put a face to the producers who are being helped by sales of Geobar.”

www.lovegeobar.com is designed to keep Geobar fans up-to-date with news and events, as well as providing interactive games, competitions and detailed information on the growers of Geobar’s fair trade ingredients. It also provides a platform for consumers to submit ideas on how to make the world a fairer place and to vote on their favourite Geobar flavour.
