Traidcraft launches indulgent chocolate range
Traidcraft has launched a new Fairtrade organic luxury chocolate range. Made in Switzerland, the new range contains Fairtrade cocoa from Bolivia and Fairtrade sugar from Costa Rica, is organic and boasts a high cocoa content.
25 July 2008
The chocolate is available in four variants: - organic dark chocolate
- organic milk chocolate
- organic dark chocolate with peppermint crisp
- organic dark chocolate with orange
A fifth variant, Fairtrade organic milk chocolate with coffee, will launch at the end of this year. The bars are available in CDUs of 10 and will retail at around £1.70 per bar. Contemporary new packaging adds to the luxurious appeal of the range. Susie Blackburn from Studio Blackburn, the creators of the packaging explains the design process: “We wanted the design to celebrate the key Fairtrade ingredient, the cocoa, from the producer’s perspective. To do this a cocoa canopy was created using a stylish illustration by Heather James. The illustration flows across all the packs in the range giving the consumer the impression that they are seeing the cocoa plants from the angle that the producer would view them from when walking through the rain forest.” The packs also feature pictures and quotes from some of the cocoa farmers benefitting from Fairtrade terms. - ends - Notes to editors: -
