Traidcraft unveils new autumn 2010 fair trade range

Newly-launched and full of fair trade, recycled and organic products – Traidcraft’s autumn 2010 catalogue is packed with products to suit all ethically conscious consumers.

4 August 2010

Highlights from the range of more than 420 products include:

• Christmas decorations including a set of six vibrant fair trade jute baubles presented in a handmade paper box (page 23) and a gorgeous hand-crocheted nativity set from Vietnam (page 24).

• The ever popular gift hamper (page 92) full of tasty fair trade treats and goodies like chocolate Christmas tree biscuits and white chocolate raspberries (page 20).

• Make your table a fair trade table with our range of festive fair trade linen and ceramics; add in recycled glassware from Bolivia plus some Fairtrade wine and you’re ready to celebrate! (pages 71 & 120).

• Another great selection of children’s gifts such as the colourful wooden double decker bus (page 48). Hand-painted in Sri Lanka it comes with 24 passengers and a driver, slide-off roof, removable top floor and rotating wheels – hours of fun and imaginative play guaranteed!

• Eye-catching jewellery such as the stylish flower brooch – unusually made from a zip, and comes with a matching bangle set from India for just £10 (page 32).

• ‘Pocket money’ gifts (pages 54 & 55) add more variety at an attractive price point from just £4. Look for a set of four hand-carved wooden spinning tops for £4 and a set of two pretty hand-embroidered butterfly purses perfect for little girls and only £8.

All this plus the old favourites, from beautiful handmade jewellery and striking homeware products to colourful children’s gifts and stylish clothing. There’s also the usual extensive selection of quality fair trade food products, beverages and wine.

And when buying your fair trade Christmas gifts from Traidcraft you can feel good knowing that the products you’ve bought have helped improve producers’ lives in the developing world. Like Lo Thi Tien from Craft Link in Vietnam who carefully handmakes ceramics: “Thanks to working here, I have a stable job with a stable income. I am happy with the work. I have money for my son’s education.”
