How big is your Poverty Footprint?

January 05, 2017

We all have a poverty footprint - a mark that we leave on the world for either good or bad. Yours might be delightfully small - if you give to charity, speak up about important issues and shop fairly. Or it might be large - if you don't really give ethical living a second thought.

The only way to find out is to take the quiz...

Five ways to make your Poverty Footprint a little smaller...

1. Buy some fair trade things once in a while (a bar of chocolate might be a good place to start!)

2. Give a little to charity: our latest appeal gives you the chance to help change a family's future. Find out more here

3. Sign some petitions... ones that could make life better for disadvantaged people. This one takes two minutes and is a great place to start.

4. Have a coffee with friends and change a family's future. Hold a little or a large coffee morning in support of farming families in developing countries. It doesn't take a lot of work... find out how easy it is here.

5. Go on an ethical holiday and meet face-to-face with fair trade producers from around the world. It's a great way to see the sights and experience a different culture first hand.
